Now we seen rain. And we are seeing cooler weather. So we are now seeing a big, big number of fish hit the harbors and rivers. Fishing has been rocking and should maintain or get better the next two weeks. Right around the corner the steelhead will be joining as well. Here are a couple pics of Jason, Lincoln, Tim, Cody and company with a few of their fish.

Wrapped up on the big boat 2 weeks ago and have been in the harbors and overs every day. It seems like everything is right on schedule. There are good numbers of kings in the northern rivers and harbors are starting to get consistent as well. Looks like another week of heat coming then a good cool down that should send the fishing into full speed for the rest of the season. Steelhead days are filling fast so if you are looking to get out, come holler. A pic of Jake with a giant 23 pound buck from yesterday.

We had a good lake flip earlier in the week and a batch of angry kings came into the harbors. Who knows how long they will stick around in here, but in the meantime it’s been some pretty productive vertical jigging. And a nice change of pace from trolling. Its giving me the itch for sure. Looking forward to the 2nd half of August and September. It will be here in no time. I have only a few days left in October for kings, but right behind that the steelhead show up in big numbers. Plenty of availability in October and November for anybody looking to get out.

Haven’t had many days to get after the smallmouth being out on the lake most of my summer days, but the fishing has been good to really good when I’ve got out. The water is still higher then summer average, but the warmer temps has them feeding good regardless. Covering water has been the been producing more fish then singling in on one or 2 specific spots. Next year I am going to push more summer river fishing. Get with me because I’m going to be pushing some incentive for multiple day trips.

The fishing remains really good most days. The fish are mostly post spawn now. Lots of big trout starting to bite now that the water is in the mid 50s. Handful more days on the river then I pack it in for the season and hit Lake Michigan for a few months.

Water is way up and dirty, but should start dropping and clearing now that we are getting some dry days. Here is Bert and Evan with a few of their fish from some less than optimal conditions on a recent trip.

Everything has landed perfectly from the last couple rainstorms and the rivers are in great shape. Another spring with big numbers of fish and it should only get better as it warms up. I have some late March and April dates still available before switching over to Lake Michigan. Fall king dates are filling fast as well with only a handful remaining.

So with the rivers in full lockup mode the past 2-3 weeks, we got a chance to do some harbor fishing thru the ice. Some in Michigan and some in Wisconsin. It’s a good time to break up the season in the boat. Here’s a few pics of the last couple trips. Time to get the boat back out this week as the rivers are opening.

Seems like we are going to have an old school Michigan winter for the first time in forever. The west side of the state has been hammered with snow the past few days and the cold has set in. Fortunately plenty have fish have made it up most of the river systems and the fishing has been great. Here’s Billy with some of the fish he pulled in a recent trip.

Sadly wrapped up king season last week. I already miss them, but there are plenty of steelhead around to keep busy. We had decent flow levels for a few days, but now the water is back down to drought levels. The fish are very concentrated in certain areas if you know where to look. Bring on the November rain!!!
